about

Fisherman’s Frolic (1902)
An Irish jig from the collection “O’Neill’s Music of Ireland,” published by the Francis O’Neill, then the Chief of Police for the city of Chicago. The rumor was that if you were Irish and could play Irish music, he’d hire you for the police force. Many of O’Neill’s sources were first-generation immigrants.
